Records tell the ownership story
Invoices and authorised or trusted-workshop records show when fluids, filters, brakes and major components were serviced. They help a buyer distinguish responsible ownership from a car prepared only for sale.
Follow time as well as distance
Cars with low annual mileage still need time-based maintenance. Fluids age, batteries weaken and rubber components deteriorate. Following the manufacturer schedule produces a clearer record and reduces avoidable failures.
Document repairs honestly
Accident or mechanical repairs should be explained with invoices where possible. Transparent evidence can build more confidence than vague assurances that a car has never needed work.
Make the history easy to review
Keep physical invoices in date order and maintain digital copies. Add insurance, tyre, battery and pollution records. A buyer who can understand the car quickly is less likely to negotiate from uncertainty.
