Check the car in daylight
Walk around the vehicle on level ground. Uneven panel gaps, paint shade differences, overspray or ripples can indicate prior body work. Repairs are not automatically a reason to reject a car, but they should be disclosed and evaluated.
Read the tyres and cabin
Uneven tyre wear can point to alignment or suspension issues. Inside, test the air conditioning, windows, locks, infotainment, seat belts and every warning light. Excessive wear compared with the odometer deserves a closer look.
Inspect documents and identity
Match the registration number, chassis number and engine details with the RC and the vehicle. Review insurance, pollution certificate, service history, loan or hypothecation status and pending transfer requirements.
Take a meaningful test drive
Start from cold when possible. Listen for unusual sounds, test steering and braking, move through every gear and observe whether the car tracks straight. Do not let a short route hide behaviour at normal road speed.
