Look beyond the monthly EMI
A longer tenure can reduce the monthly payment while increasing total interest. Compare the loan amount, rate, processing fees, tenure and total repayment together before choosing an offer.
Choose a balanced down payment
A larger down payment reduces borrowing, but it should not empty your emergency savings. Keep a buffer for insurance, registration work, immediate service and normal household expenses.
Budget the ownership cost
Add fuel, maintenance, tyres, parking, tolls and annual insurance to the EMI. A car that fits the loan calculator may still feel expensive if recurring costs are ignored.
Check the terms carefully
Ask whether the interest rate is fixed or reducing balance, understand prepayment conditions and confirm all fees in writing. Finance approval and rates depend on lender policy and the applicant’s profile.
Important: Vehicle condition, finance and RTO requirements vary. Verify the specific car, lender terms and applicable government process before committing.
